The 220+-member Virginia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International was chartered in 1986 and became MPI’s 42nd Chapter. The chapter, known as VAMPI for short, normally meets the first Thursday of each month from September through June. The membership covers a large area of Virginia, including Roanoke, Charlottesville, Richmond, Fredericksburg and Tidewater.
VAMPI has four Membership categories:

• Planner - those who plan and manage meetings and events;
• Supplier - those who supply goods or services to the meeting industry;
• Student - those enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program, emphasizing the meeting industry;
• Affiliate - those who are current MPI Members assigned to another Chapter.

Meeting Professionals International, established in 1972, (MPI; www.mpiweb.org ) is the largest association for the meeting profession with nearly 19,000 members in 66 chapters and affiliates.

The mission of the Virginia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (VAMPI) is to be the pivotal force in providing meeting planners and suppliers superior educational, networking, and leadership development opportunities while establishing and implementing our business plan to ensure membership growth, retention, and future development of the Chapter and its leadership.
