About VAMPI - Who We Are

The 240+-member Virginia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International was chartered in 1986 and became MPI’s 42nd Chapter. The chapter, known as VAMPI for short, normally meets the first Thursday of each month from September through June. The membership covers a large area of Virginia, including Roanoke, Charlottesville, Richmond, Fredericksburg and Tidewater.

VAMPI has four Membership categories:

• Planner - those who plan and manage meetings and events
• Supplier - those who supply goods or services to the meeting industry
• Student - those enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program, emphasizing the meeting industry
• Affiliate - those who are current MPI Members assigned to another Chapter

Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the meeting and event industry’s largest and most vibrant global community, helps our members thrive by providing human connections to knowledge and ideas, relationships, and marketplaces. MPI membership is comprised of more than 24,000 members belonging to 70 chapters and clubs worldwide.
